The Wellness Industry

The Wellness Industry has grown from a 200 billion industry 5 years ago to a 500 billion industry today,  and it's just getting started, offering greater entreprenuerial opportunities especially for the direct selling market. According to Paul Zane Pilzer, one seventh or $1.5 trillion of the U.S. economy today is devoted to what he refers to as the "Sickness Industry." And by the year 2010, an additional $1 trillion of the economy will be devoted to health, beauty, anti-aging and products that prevent diseases from developing altogether. The implications of the shift to proactive wellness are far reaching from health to beauty to food to medicine.

In essence, the wellness industry will remain a very profitable market for many years to come. As many of these health products companies are adopting the direct selling method, this phemonena is opening up vast opportunities for ordinary people to become successful in business - viable businesses selling world-class products which they can start with very little capital, businesses which they can start part-time without jeopardizing their present day-jobs.

The internet age of today is an additional blessing to the network-marketing industry. It brought about the concept of "internetwork-marketing" which is the fusion of internet-marketing with network-marketing. This resulted in a shift in network-marketing from its traditional offline to online mode. This fusion in turn opens up a whole new world of possibilities to the network marketer. The internet era brought with it an array of tools which provided network-marketing with, among others, marketing speed and an option for automation.
